Four decades of ground breaking research on flagship species – giant pandas and snow leopards – and their habitats across Southwest China and the Tibetan Plateau; established field research bases to support cross disciplinary studies in conservation sciences and to advance locally-led conservation in the world’s biodiversity hotspots; translated scientific findings into actionable frameworks through leadership of Peking University Center for Nature and Society and Shanshui Conservation Center.
